Carl Theodore Ahlersmeyer Jr., a 96-year-old Florida resident, passed away on February 5, 2025, at Health First Hospital in Cape Canaveral. A Florida resident for six years, he cherished his time with his family.
Born on March 13, 1928, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Carl was the son of the late Carl Theodore and Eleanor Ahlersmeyer. He attended Concordia Lutheran High School but interrupted his education to serve his country in the United States Navy during World War II. After his discharge, he completed his education.
Carl dedicated over three decades of his career to NIPSCO (Northern Indiana Public Service Company) in Fort Wayne. His journey began in the Street Department, followed by roles in Service and ultimately, working to maintain the high-pressure gas lines feeding Fort Wayne.
Before relocating to Florida, Carl actively volunteered at Lutheran Life Villages on South Anthony Boulevard. In his retirement, he cherished daily lunches with his son, Dan at McDonald’s. Carl also found joy in various projects, transforming his condominium garage into a comfortable workshop where he engaged in conversations with residents while working on projects. On Saturdays, he attended church in Cocoa Beach, where he made many new friends.
Carl is survived by his son, Dan (Cindy) Ahlersmeyer of Cape Canaveral, Florida; brother, Donald (Janet) Ahlersmeyer of Angola, Indiana; grandsons Matthew Ahlersmeyer of Saint Petersburg, Florida, Ryan Ahlersmeyer of Angola, Indiana; and a great-granddaughter, Alex Fahrmeyer of Hay Springs, Nebraska.

A private service will be held for the family at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
