

Carl Baker, 80, of Fort Wayne passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born on February 20, 1939 in Verda, Kentucky, a son of the late George Matt and Lucy (Rice) Baker. He earned his certification from Rhema Bible College and served as the pastor at Gospel Lighthouse Church of God. He was also the owner of Baker’s Plumbing and Heating. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing; reading, and watching old western movies. He will be remembered for his joking nature. Family was very important to him and he enjoyed going to their many activities. Surviving family include his wife of 37 years, Carol (Wegner) Baker; children, Eileen (Roy) Condron of Ocean City, Maryland, Randy (Patricia) Baker of Fort Wayne, Carl D. (Rhonda) Baker of Woodbridge, Virginia, Jodi (Kevin Hamil) Michael, Christopher (Amy) Baker, and Angela (Peter) Olvera, all of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Kristy, Jennifer, Amber, Randy, Jr., Patrick, Eliot, Kenadie, Ashleigh, Jacob, Zachery, Samantha, Hope, Christopher, Jr., Lillyana, Angelina, and Grace; 12 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; three siblings; and a host of other family. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his granddaughter, Gabrielle; and seven siblings. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
