Carl Handshoe, 85, passed away November 30, 2023 at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born January 7, 1938, in Gunlock, KY, the son of John and Sarah Handshoe. He was a developer and engineer and worked at various locations in the area, including, International Harvester, Magnavox, Zollner Piston and Franklin Electric in Bluffton, IN.
Carl is survived by his wife Shirley Joyce Handshoe of Fort Wayne, son, Gary (Karen) Handshoe of Wawaka, IN; daughter Teri (Kenny) Warrix of Avilla, IN; siblings, Edgil Handshoe of Baggs, WY; Vernis (Kayota) Handshoe of Butler, IN; Alice Martin of Garrett, IN; Delmar (Sandra) Handshoe of Garrett, IN; 5 grandchildren: Dustin (Melissa) Warrix of Kendallville, IN; Jessica (David) Gater of Middeville, MI; Elisha (Austin) Hardesty of Fort Wayne, IN; Kristopher (Becca) Handshoe of Bryan, OH; Kevin Handshoe of San Jose, CA. 4.5 Great Grandchildren: Raylin Warrix, Payton Gater, Amya Gater, Parker Hardesty and future brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Sarah Handshoe; brothers Wilkie Handshoe and Clyde Handshoe and infant sister Wanda Lee Handshoe.
Carl loved playing and watching golf, amateur ham radio, flying remote-controlled planes, traveling, camping, playing cards, listening to blue grass music, and eating a good steak.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday December 6, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home 8325 Covington Road Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation prior from 11-1pm at the funeral home. Burial at Highland Park Cemetery.
