Carl Lee Savage Jr., 65, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025. Born on April 19, 1960, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to parents Carl Sr. and Louise (Starr) Savage, Carl was beloved by so many. After graduating from Elmhurst High School in 1978, Carl served in the United States National Guard for some time. A kind-hearted and generous man, he found a deep purpose in giving back to his community. Carl devoted 25 years to volunteering with the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission where his warm presence touched countless lives. He also gave his time to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, assisting with maintenance and lending a helping hand wherever he was needed. Carl is survived by his siblings, Ruth (Marshall) Moore, Remma Newsome, and Willie Savage, along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Sr. and Louise (Starr) Savage, and his brother-in-law, Terry Newsome. Memorial contributions in Carl’s honor may be made out to St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen, the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission, and The Shepherd’s House.
