Carl Anthony "Tony" Woodard

Carl Anthony “Tony” Woodard, 61, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022. Born on February 26, 1961, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Carlos and Carol (Frederick) Woodard.

Tony retired in 2017 from Signature Care, after several years of service as a COTA. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, swimming, and he especially enjoyed having parties at the backyard pool. Above all, however, he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, who were the light of his life.

Tony is survived by his wife of over 39 years, Christine M. (Myers) Woodard; daughter, Torri L. Woodard of Fort Wayne; sons, Adam (Krystal) Woodard of LaOtto, and Seth (Kara) Woodard of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Braylen, Logan, and Jace Woodard, all of Laotto; sister, Debra Hill of Ashley; nieces, Amber (Jeremy) Gass of Kendallville, Leann (Bryon) Cuipik of Fort Wayne; nephews, Nathan (Shannon) McElroy of Fort Wayne, Justin (Doris) McElroy of Tennessee, Matt Janeway of New Haven, Dane McGuire of Grabill; God-son, Braydon (Maria) Gass of Garrett; great-niece, Solaya Gass of Kendallville; aunt, Lois Lortie of Monroeville; and cousins, Kathy Everage of Stroh, and Dawn Drewery of Woodburn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cousins, Ronnie Frederick, and Allen Terry; and his beloved dog, Diesel.

A funeral service to honor Tony's life and legacy will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, December 16, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. A calling will also be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00pm, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
