Carol Underhill

Carol A. Underhill, 86, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at home with family by her side. Born March 18, 1935 in Huntington, IN, she was the daughter of the late Lessel L. and Bernice Buzzard. She was a graduate of Parkview School of Nursing (1956) and received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of St. Francis (1979.) She worked as a Registered Nurse for Dr. Hoetzer and Parkview Memorial Hospital/Lindenview Regional Behavioral Center, retiring in 1997. She was a life member of Job's daughters, Lindenview Lunch Group, Parkview Senior's Group, White Cross, an Alumni for Parkview School of Nursing as well as a lifetime member of the Underhill Society of America. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and butterflies. Carol is survived by sons, John F. (Vicki) Underhill, James L. Underhill and Jeffrey A. Underhill all of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister, Una K. (Ken) Byrnes of Tucson, AZ.; grandchildren, Andrew, Samantha and Wesley; great-grandchildren, Camden and Nolan; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Underhill; and brother, Kenneth N. Buzzard. Funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Monday, September 20, 2021 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Ft. Wayne, IN with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, September 19, 2021 also at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Parkview Behavioral Health.
