Carroll J. Nichols, 87, passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022. Born in Allen County, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Bethel William "Bill" and Lillian Lavon (Sibert) Breeden. Carroll was a Past Queen of Daughters of the Nile, Teti Sheri Temple 60 for 48 years. She performed with the dance troupe, Alley Kats, bringing smiles to faces at area nursing homes. She was co-owner of Advanced Sewer Service for 53 years. Carroll enjoyed her work in the Nile, helping to fund the Shriners hospitals, along with crocheting and donating angel baby blankets to Parkview Hospital. Over the years she has also enjoyed riding and showing horses, camping, selling Avon, Red Hats, and being with family. She is survived by a sister, Marsha (Miles) Carr; daughters, Cynthia Nichols of Fort Wayne, Gail (Brian) Vedder of Columbia City and Robin (James) Garrison of Fort Wane; son, Robert Nichols Jr.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert L. Nichols Sr.; and sister, Linda Lou Breeden. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46804), with calling one hour prior to service. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
