Catherine A. Bourne

CATHERINE "KITTY" ANNE BOURNE, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital. She was born on Sept. 24, 1936 in Fairmont, WVa. Kitty attended Fairmont High School, W.Va. and graduated from Purdue University receiving her AS in Supervision. She retired from Lutheran Hospital after 30+ years in Nutrition Services. Kitty enjoyed music, especially singing as an active member in the Summit City Singers, the Southmoor Singers, a choir member for nearly 40 years at Waynedale United Methodist Church, and other organizations including the Bell Choir for several years. Kitty was an active member in several other organizations including the Red Hat Society, Elmhurst Garden Club, TOPS IN537 for over 45 years serving as Area Captain and holding other offices as Leader and Co-Leader, Evening Stars Home Extension for over 15 years holding many offices at the county and district level including President of the Allen County group, Sigma Beta Sorority Delta Rho Chapter for 22 years holding offices of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Parliamentarian. She is survived by her daughter, Vicky (Gordon) McInnis; son, John (Michelle) Bourne; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori (David) Bauch; and parents, Edward Dale and Saralou Jordan Curry. A memorial service celebrating Kitty's life is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at Waynedale United Methodist Church, with Pastor Ted Jansen officiating. Family visitation and fellowship will immediately follow service at the church. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Waynedale United Methodist Church Food Bank as she enjoyed sharing recipes and feeding people, and the Humane Society for her love of cats.
