Charlotte Buesching Andrews

Mrs. Andrews was a graduate of Fort Wayne North Side High School and St. Paul’s Lutheran Grade School. She and her high-school sweetheart, Louis H. Andrews, were married on August 1, 1945 and were together raising a family and supporting each other for just over 69 years until Louis’ death on August 12, seven weeks prior to Charlotte’s death.

She enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and other games; reading; being with friends, not only in Fort Wayne, but also in Naples, FL, and Pinehurst, NC; and most of all, spending time with her husband and her family, all of whom she cared about and loved deeply. She was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church, the Fort Wayne Country Club, Saturday Club, Tri Kappa, and the Junior League.

She is survived by her three children, Deborah (Paul) Helmke of Fort Wayne and Bloomington; Karen (David) Gilliatt of Croton-on-Hudson, New York, and Amy Bell of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Laura (Sean) Helmke Long, Kathryn Helmke, Olivia Gilliatt, and Andrew Bell; and two great-grandchildren, Nina and Nicholas Long.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis H. Andrews; mother, Irene Goeglein Buesching; father, William J. Buesching; brother, William J. Buesching, Jr.; and sister, Doris Buesching Reese.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802 with visitation an hour prior to the service. There will be a private interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park of both Mr. and Mrs. Andrews. Memorials should be directed to the church.
