

Our beloved matriarch, Charlotte “Renee” Coakley, a true rock and source of unwavering strength, was born on August 18, 1951, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to her devoted parents, Edward and Mary Mosely. From the very beginning, Renee’s warmth, resilience, and grace touched the hearts of everyone she encountered.
A proud graduate of Central School, Class of 1970, Renee went on to marry the love of her life, Ronald Coakley, on July 28, 1971. Their union of over 55 years was built on love, faith and mutual respect. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Theresa, Tracy and Ronald Jr., instilling in them the values of kindness, hard work, and family unity.
Renee devoted over 35 years of her life to Parkview Health Systems where she worked as a Central Service Manager. She was respected for her diligence, leadership and commitment to excellence. Her colleagues admired her calm presence and compassionate spirit, which made her not only a trusted professional, but also a cherished friend.
Outside of her career, Renee embraced life with joy and purpose. She had a deep love for reading, a passion for cooking that brought her family together around the table, and fondness for classic films and spirited games. Her favorite soundtrack was the soulful voice of Luther Vandross, whose music filled her home with comfort and nostalgia. But more than anything, Renee cherished time spent with her family-her pride, her joy, her everything.
Renee passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Coakley; two loving daughters, Theresa Brown of Fort Wayne, IN and Tracy (Robert) Taylor of Saint Peters, MO and her beloved son, Ronald Coakley Jr. of Fort Wayne, IN. She also leaves behind in a legacy through her seven adoring grandchildren, Briana, Jonte, De’Ja, Robert III, Ronald III, Sydney and Jayden – and four great grandchildren, Aayden, Harold, Princeton, and Greyson. Her memory lives on in the brother, Sam (Kathy) Mosley of Angola, IN and a host of nieces, nephews, extra extended family and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Edward and Mary Charlotte Mosley; her sister, Willie Mae Williams; and brothers, James Mosely and Edward Frank Mosely.
Renee will forever be remembered as a phenomenal woman -- a beacon of grace, wisdom, and unwavering love. She was the heart of her family, a nurturer of generations, and a friend to many. Her legacy is one of strength, compassion, and quiet resilience. The beauty of her soul and the power of her presence will continue to inspire all who had the blessing of knowing her.
Her spirit lives in every life she touched. She will be deeply missed and eternally cherished.
