Cheryl was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and remained a proud lifelong resident. The second oldest child of the late Joan and Paul Tumbleson, Cheryl was the loving sister of the late Gordon (Judy), Keith (Sue), and Stanley (Mary) Tumbleson, Connie (Dennis) Coonan and Debra Ballinger. Cheryl’s greatest joy was expressed through her devotion to her children, the late Todd Glass and Tia (George) Ghattas.
With a life defined by love and perseverance, Cheryl always met life’s challenges with grace and a fighting spirit. Her greatest victories were raising her children as a single mother, earning her college degree mid-life, her strong sense of independence, and beating cancer an incredible five times. Cheryl enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, like a good STRONG cup of coffee, a meaningful antique, family gatherings, an original Nutcracker, her unique taste in art, gardening, interior design, well-tailored clothing, traveling, extensive musical taste, and tending to animals of her own or outdoors. She is fondly remembered for her deep love of Christmas and family holiday gatherings as well as cheerfully driving her L’Eggs van around town as she worked her distribution route and then as a bus driver for Fort Wayne Community Schools.
Cheryl’s proud legacy will continue to live on through her grandchildren, Kyle Glass and Alexis, Elie, Gordon and Nicholas Ghattas.
The family would like to thank Heritage Park for exceptional care and especially her outstanding caretaker friend, Jonte.
