Adventures and singing at the top of our lungs..I'm going to miss you SO much! I cant remember quite why we hit it off so fast, but next thing I know we're hanging out and loving life. I remember taking the vw or the camaro to bowling class or on road trips to schools,  Cedar Point or country cruising. Whenever I was with you, it was fun and excitement. We took different paths after high school, but you still managed to visit me at IU or Cali. You had those beautiful little girls and I got to love on them whenever i visited. We could be apart for years, and then just pick right back up💖
Your trip out to SF when we flew to lunch with Lester, then Pismo Beach and LB to see the gang..And you even made it to Tahoe for my wedding! The last chapter from your beautiful wedding to T thru the visits to your lovely farm meant SO much to me. Thru all these years the excitement of harmonizing with you was The Best. Tim strumming his guitar in the background.. I've been listening to a lot of the old songs and singing along this past week, but your voice is missing. Lots of Cat Steven's, Carol King, Champagne Jam, anything from the 70s thru current - we both knew all the words! And I remember you turning me on to ee cummings.. love poems.. 
You my friend are loved and missed by many. Your body betrayed you and yet you handled it with grace and dignity. I was so happy to see your family and friends gathered last week. You are free to fly🦋

How sad I am that Cheri is no longer with us.  I have many good memories from our high school years: staying at her house, singing in choir, laughing, and just generally hanging out. Although I have lived far away for many years, Cheri was always cheerful and kind when we would see each other; it was as though we had just seen each other only the week before but in reality it was usually five years or more.  Some people do great things that have a positive impact on the world, but Cheri taught me that true kindness and cheerfulness can possibly do more to help us all.  I will miss you, but I know your beautiful voice is joining the whole chorus of heaven and you are at peace at last.   May God grant all your many friends and family members comfort and strength. 

So many memories over so many years, one is a time that I’m not sure I remember because I was so young but the picture is vivid in my mind, photograph of a time when we were at a petting zoo, with my Grandma Tromblay - as the northern families and southern families were enjoying life at one of the many gatherings, There were so many memories, it is a living collage, a swiftly moving flow of sights, sounds, hugs, love, faith, emotion, smiles and laughter, tears and support to one another during the challenging times of life. We are blessed to have such a rich experience with all these connected families. Rest in peace cousin till we meet again!❤️

Cheri had faith, character, and strength. She managed through huge challenges with grace, while still keeping her concern for others. She was a good thinker, and was also wise (two different things). She knew how to be a friend and how to show her loving heart without holding back. She spoke numerous times with me about husband Tim’s support and Mom Marjorie Ann’s support. She was in love with them, her girls, grandkids, great-grandchild and the whole extended family.

Thank you, God, for the gift of Cheri. 


To Cheri,  my very first kindergarten friend... I will always cherish the kindness and love you showed me in our grade school years.  You were my first school friend to invite me to stay overnight and we had so much fun with your precious mom and dad and big family.  Over the years we shared high school days, friends and raising our families.  I remember how graciously you accepted your trials throughout your life and yet always found the words to share your love for life and your family.  My friend, I know you are dancing and singing in those beautiful gardens in heaven.  Rest peacefully in your Heavenly Father's welcoming arms and send your peace to rain down upon all of us who loved you.

How to say goodbye?To the closest friend I have ever had,,,,,,,Walk trail 7, singing where'm I gonna live,  Kids. husbands. we braved it all.  You are no longer suffering, for that I am grateful.  Enjoy the heavens and find our trail.

When I first started dating Wendi, she told me that the most special person in the world to her was her mom. I love Wendi's heart, so I naturally liked her mom, and when I finally proposed, I did it in her presence so Wendi could share that with her mom. I used to tease Wendi during our first year of marriage, asking her how I compared to her mom for her love. She said she couldn't compare, it was different. Over the past 16 years of marriage, I called Cheri “mom” too. She always welcomed me. We didn't ever talk too much, but she repeated the same things to me throughout the time I knew her, “I love you,” and “thank you Paul.” Towards the end when we would come or go she would reach her hand towards me and smile, and I would give her a hug. Cheri was a good mother-in-law. She couldn't do all that she wanted, but she loved us, and I thank God for that. 

Grandma Cheri was a kind grandmother. I remember when we would stay at their house and I would see all of these fake frogs all over the house. One night we found a real frog in our bed! I REALLY wanted to catch it and keep it to show Grandma but it was the middle of the night and she was sleeping. So when it was morning I ran into the kitchen and said, "Grandma! Guess what! Last night we saw a frog in our bed! I wanted to show it to you but it was in the middle of the night." "Oh that is all right honey." She said. "I only like fake frogs."😃 She was a really nice grandma and I am going to miss her but now she is in heaven with God and is with some family she has not seen for a while.

In the few years I knew Cheri I was able to see how much love she must have spread throughout her life.  She never complained, even when there was plenty that I would have whined about.  I loved her dearly and will always miss her bright smile.

I am saddened to hear of Cheri's passing. I just listened to Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle". Cheri loved that song when we were teenagers. I close my eyes and it is 1973 again.  Cheri and I would be riding our bikes to the Lakeside Gardens or Bushbam's Drug store.  I first met Cheri when I was in the 4th grade and my family moved to Clara Avenue.  Although we attended different schools we hung out all the time. She is forever linked to my memories of happy days.  One of my favorite is playing cards at the Langohr picnic table in the shade ... which we did almost every hot summer afternoon.  Cheri liked "The King of the Road" too.  I can hear her signing the words to that song. Not impressed with shiny things, she was a genuine, kind hearted, happy- go-lucky person. I am thankful I knew her friendship.  I am comforted that she is beyond suffering now.   May your memories of Cheri make you smile and feel the everlasting gift of her love.

My dear daughter Cheri, You were always a beautiful, kind, friendly, thoughtful person. You bravely fought a 30 year battle with MS. Now the victory is won in heaven, and you are at peace and without pain.  I know that you're there with Dad, Andy, Pam, and Sarah as well as all the family. Thank you for all the wonderful years you were with us.  Love,  Mom
 

Cheri Sorrell, I will always miss you, my forever friend... you've brought so much "LIFE" to my life -- including SUNSHINE, FROGS & LAUGHTER -- until the end. Now you have the peace and comfort you have long-deserved. Because you are at peace, so am I. I know you are with our Lord and savior, your dear sweet Sara, your father and your brother. I know you are no longer suffering. I know the birth of your children have created QUITE a legacy that will be carried on for generations. I will miss everything about you, as I already do. Your infectious smile, your incredible perseverance, our Bloody-Mary-making days, your photography expertise, and your time with not only me but with my family, too... thank you so much for friendship... I will miss you, until we are together again... RIP, Cheri... and please give each of my parents a  very looooong hug from me!  

My sister, Cheri always made me happy when I was with her. Cheered me up when I was down, always positive. Growing up we were close. When we were teenagers she would cover for me when I was skipping school or partying a little too much. She had so many friends and had awesome yahtzee parties! I love her and will miss her. 

Whenever we saw Cheri she had the brightest smile on her face. She made you feel good just being with her. She was a strong woman who possessed a grace and dignity even while dealing with her MS. She loved God and now she is in his loving care. We will miss her and her smile. 

Cheri was a shining star.  She was always kind and had a beautiful singing voice.  I distinctly remember her and Tim playing and singing "On the Cover of the Rolling Stones" at my parents' house in Auburn and how wonderful and fun it was.  She will be greatly missed! 

Definitely thankful for my mom.  God worked some really special things in and through her life. I remember her love for Paul and me and her gentleness with all my children and the special relationship she had with each one of us. The weeks before she died I would call her and say the 23rd Psalm with her and pray with her. I am thankful for all of the time I was able to spend with her. Even the times I was able to share in her suffering are precious to me. I will miss her so much ...until heaven.
