

Cheryl Louise Troup, born on March 8, 1948, in New Paris, Ohio, passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 77. A resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Cheryl was known for being faithful, compassionate, patient, thoughtful, and kind-hearted.
Cheryl graduated from Richmond High School in 1966. After graduation, she began her career at GTE, where she remained for 34 years. In 1991, Cheryl married Doug, and they celebrated 34 years of marriage. She will be remembered by her loving husband, Douglas Troup, along with a number of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William James and Mary Jane Hopkins; her brother, Ronald Hopkins; her sister, Carol Kennedy; and her brothers, Danny Hopkins and Terry Hopkins.
Cheryl was an active member and Deacon at Faith Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana and volunteered at Parkview Hospital. She enjoyed going on day trips in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. Cheryl taught many women's bible studies and cherished her time at Parkview Health and Fitness.
Cheryl's personal legacy is marked by her love for giving hugs to those she thought needed one, especially older folks and children. Her thoughtful and kind-hearted nature left a lasting impact on those around her.
The family extends special thanks to Yvette Wade-Williams for her years of care. Cheryl Louise Troup will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on February 26, 2026 at D. O. McComb and Sons, Maplewood Chapel, 4017 Maplecrest Rd., Fort Wayne, Indiana 46815, at 1:00 PM. Calling will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home the same day.
