

Christopher Ross Stewart “Stew”, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born in Ashland, Kentucky on January 26, 1951, to the late Clarence Stewart and Georgia (Bradley) Moffett. Growing up in Portsmouth, Ohio, he attended Portsmouth High School and graduated in 1969. He made all the local newspapers, highlighting his High School Football career. He was a cornerback, and lineman on both offense and defense. His skills were unmatched. He made the Greater Ohio League All-offensive team and was chosen as the recipient of the Most Outstanding Lineman trophy. Although he was a jack of many trades, Chris was most proud of his career as a Journeymen Lineman, working with high voltage power lines. He was a member and a Steward of IBEW Local 1393. He was also a teacher for Albat, teaching the next generation of lineman SAFTEY FIRST!!
When he met his wife, Marilyn, of 51 years, he knew that he had met the love of his life. His most precious accomplishment in life was creating a beautiful family with his Dolly. He boasted in pride about his girls and his grandkids. He had a beautiful soul, filled with kindness and love. He was always willing to help his friends and family in any situation. He may be gone but will never be forgotten.
Chris is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marilyn (Monnier) Stewart; daughters, Julie (Carlos) Molina, Melissa Stewart, and Christy (Andy) Kluck; grandchildren, Zach, Dystiney, Darryen, Stewart, Selena, Auriana, Jakeb, Aidan, and Jovi; and great-grandchildren, Ryder, Alo, Aylin, Nehemiah, and Ryleigh. He is preceded in passing by his brother, Richard Stewart; step-father, Bob Moffett; and nephew Christopher Robert “Robbie” Stewart.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 8th, 2025, at the VFW Post 2457, 12700 Dawkins Road, New Haven, Indiana 46774, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
