Clarabelle “Belle” Whiteman, 99, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on September 18, 1925, to parents Charles D. and Grace E. (Gebhart) Castle, Clarabelle was beloved by so many. She married the love her life Noble “Bud” Whiteman on November 25, 1950. The two spent 65 deeply cherished years together, creating a treasured legacy with their two children, Debbie and David. She was a 1943 graduate of Central High School, and a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Belle was the sweetest, classiest gal around. She was so kind to everyone she met and was grateful for everything life offered. Her style reflected her classy personality, and she loved to top off her outfits with a variety of hats. Her and Bud could be found at the Legion twice a week dancing the night away, even well into their 80s. In her free time, Belle always enjoyed gardening where a vibrant array of flowers bloomed under her tender care. Freshly baked cookies were never far from the oven in her home, and a pot of coffee was always on, ready to be shared in conversation with friends and family alike. Every Friday, Belle would always meet up with friends at the Legion where many memories were made and shared. Above all else though, Belle held such a deep love for her family who will always share that love back. Surviving are her children, Debbie Whiteman and David (Jessica) Whiteman; grandchildren, Amber (Dalton) Mann; great-grandchildren, Jordyn Hughes, Brooklyn Busz, and Jaxsyn Mann; and brother, Butch Castle. Preceding in death are her husband, Noble Whiteman, and her parents, Charles and Grace Castle. A funeral service for Belle will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 2PM, with visitation from 12PM-2PM, at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home 1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46808. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Family and friends may share condolences to sloanandsonsfuneralhome.com.
