Colleen E Stalter

Colleen E. (Doctor) Stalter, 78, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023 in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born January 13, 1944 in Fort Wayne, IN, the daughter of the late Herbert and Irmgard (Albersmeyer) Doctor. She was a 1962 graduate of New Haven High School.

Colleen was a “stay at home Mom” to her three sons which allowed her to do volunteer work at her son’s school and many years for Time Corners Little League. She enjoyed endless years attending the boy’s athletic events from elementary to college.

She also loved the time spent with family and friends on their boat moored in Grand Haven, Michigan. They traveled up and down the big lake from Mackinac Island South to St Joe and across to Chicago and Milwaukee.

The family would like to thank the Administration and staff of North Woods Village and the staff of Heart to Heart Hospice for the professional and personal manner that they conduct their respective operations.

She is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Don Stalter of Fort Wayne; son Brian Stalter of Zeeland, Michigan; son Dr. Bradley (Jane) Statler of Indianapolis; and son Barry (Kim) Statler of Westfield,Indiana., sisters - in- law, Joan Doctor, Betty Doctor, Carolyn (Ed) Mayo and Kathleen (Mike) Stalter, brothers-in-law Edward Mayo and Michael Stalter. Also surviving are five grandchildren and seventeen nieces and nephews and her extended family of Pat and Laura Scheiner.

Colleen was preceded in passing by siblings Linda Doctor, Patricia (Delmar) Gerbers, Kenneth (Irene) Doctor, Dean (Joan) Doctor and David (Betty) Doctor.

Funeral service is 11:00 am Saturday, January 14, 2023 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home 8325 Covington Road with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 3:00 pm-5:00pm and 6:00 pm -9:00 pm Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Funeral Home. Private entombment at Covington Memorial Garden Cemetery.
