Connie Marie McKinzie, 63, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Connie was born on December 1, 1961, in Great Lakes Naval Station, Illinois, to parents Paul Robert McKinzie and Dorothy Marie (Lindeman) McKinzie. A mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor, she was loved by so many. Connie was a 1980 graduate of Southside High School and later earned her Associate’s Degree in Dental Assisting.
Connie found joy in life’s simple moments, expressing her creativity through diamond art and countless crochet projects. Her handmade blankets and bears will always be cherished by her family and friends. Connie also enjoyed immersing herself in the books she read. A source of comfort, Connie could always be found with a cup of coffee in hand. Above all else, she loved her family who will forever cherish Connie’s memory in their hearts.
Surviving Connie are her children, David Hancock Jr and Aimee Herndon-McKinzie; grandchildren, Kiera, Isabella, Tyler, and Greyson; and best friend, Kenny Smith. Preceding in death are her parents; son, Tyler; and siblings, Paula, Debbie, and Steve.
