Consuela Vanlandingham

Consuela Vanlandingham, born Consuela Winburn on November 8, 1935, peacefully passed away on February 13, 2024, at Lutheran Life Villages (Pine Valley) in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 88. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Consuela attended Richmond High School where she graduated in 1953. She went on to have a successful career, working at Dana Corporation in Richmond, Indiana, Hartman Electric in Mansfield, Ohio, and Meijer in Fort Wayne, Indiana where she retired in 2015.

Consuela found solace and community in her places of worship. She was a member of Bethel AME (Richmond, Indiana), Greater Mitchell Chapel AME Church (Mansfield, Ohio) and Turner Chapel AME (Fort Wayne, Indiana) where she was very active as a choir, and usher board member.

In her free time, Consuela enjoyed raising her children and attending sporting events, expressing her creativity through arts and crafts and with the members of the Dior Socialites. She also had a passion for watching the Cleveland Browns and cherished spending time with friends and family.

Consuela is survived by her brother, Martel Winburn and her children: Kim (Valerie) Vanlandingham, Michael (Rosemary) Vanlandingham, Martel (Erica) Vanlandingham, Bret (Monisa) Vanlandingham, Todd (Cindy) Vanlandingham, Allison (Keith) Edmonds, and Scot (Damita) Vanlandingham 13 Grandchildren, and 11 Great-Grandchildren 2 half-sisters Marita and Alita Winburn (Mexico City) She was preceded in death by her parents, James (Alice) Ferguson and David Winburn Sr., her brother David Winburn II, her husband Robert D. Vanlandingham and her son, Robert D. Vanlandingham II.

Funeral Service is 11:00 am, Thursday, February 22, Turner Chapel AME, 836 E. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. The family invites friends and loved ones to attend and pay their respects. Entombment at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 23, Earlham Cemetery, 1101 W Nat'l Rd, Richmond, Ind.
