In 1967, she graduated from the Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing in Massachusetts, and later completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Indiana University. Cindy moved from Fort Wayne to Hamilton Lake in 2020. There she enjoyed reading, boat rides, and daily walks around the lake.
Cindy spent most of her career working as a surgical nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in downtown Fort Wayne. There she developed great friendships and positively impacted the lives of many patients. She was known for her spirit, hard work, and her ability to brighten a room with her presence. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her family, as she was a source of comfort and support to so many in her community.
In addition, Cindy had a passion for travel, and she explored the world with a sense of wonder and adventure- even learning a few new languages along the way. She cherished the memories made during her journeys and shared her love for exploration with those she held dear. Additionally, Cindy enjoyed finding joy in preparing delicious recipes she learned during her travels. Her kitchen was the place that her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew always had her homemade cookies in her cookie jar each time they visited.
Another love of Cindy’s was a large movie collection-anything with Patrick Swayze and all the James Bond films starring Sean Connery were her favorites. Her movies created memories that will last a lifetime!
