Cynthia Kay (Graf) Gapter, 64, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home. Cindy was born March 8, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio, daughter of the late Jack and Phyllis (Harroun) Graf. She was a kind and loving women who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Cindy was a faithful pastor's wife who shared in her husband's ministry. She was a gifted singer (first Soprano), who used her talent to glorify God. She was a talented Bible teacher, writer, and public speaker. Cindy enjoyed studying the Word of God and reading Christian books. She loved working in the yard with flowers and gardening, along with crafting and decorating the house. She was a Rainbow Girl and then a 45+ year member of the Eastern Star and was a past Worthy Matron of the River Chapter in Rocky River, Ohio. Cindy received her B. S. Degree in Industrial Psychology and her MBA Degree from Cleveland State University. She worked for over 30 years at Dorn Color, Inc. in sales and marketing. She also worked for Caldwell Color and Sampling International. Cindy was an active member of Color Marketing Group as a National Sales Manager. She also enjoyed sports and fitness, running numerous marathons and competing in Triathlons. She placed 3rd for females, 39 and under, at the 12th annual Columbus Marathon in 1991. Cindy was the first female president of the Cleveland Athletic Club in Cleveland, Ohio and was awarded the Cleveland Athletic Club 1999 Sportswoman of the year award. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Harrison D. Gapter of Fort Wayne; and a brother, Barrie Lee Graf. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Sue Graf. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 16933 Thiele Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819. Visitation for Cindy will be held Monday, February 8, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809. Services in Ohio will take place after local services. Funeral service will be on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Jenkins Funeral Chapel, 2914 Dover Center Road, Westlake, Ohio 44145. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jenkins Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Fallen Timbers Union Cemetery, Waterville, Ohio. Memorials in Cindy's memory may be made to the St. Mark Lutheran Church Property Endowment Fund.
