

D. Wayne Penny, 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, December 18, at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born May 31, 1928 in Grass Creek, Indiana, he was the son of the late Delbert Riley and Nora (nee. Scott) Penny. Wayne served his country in the Navy from 1946 to 1948. He retired from Sears Truck Center after 27 years of service; he also served with the Boy Scouts of America for 20 years in many capacities.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan Penny, of Fort Wayne, a daughter; Lee Ann Muller, of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, sons; Richard W. Penny, and Thomas (Teresa) Penny, both of Fort Wayne, grandchildren; Jessica (Rob) Wilson, of Mill Creek, WA., Michael Penny, San Diego, CA., PO1st Class Kurtis Penny, of San Diego, CA., Dr. Phillip (Lindsay) Penny, of Lansing, MI, Scott Penny J.D., of Indianapolis, Douglas Penny B.S., of Indianapolis, Jillian Penny B.S., of Noblesville, Katie Muller, and Matthew Muller, both of Minneapolis, MN., great-grandchildren; Brody Wilson, and Alyssa Penny.
Calling will be held from 3 to 8 P.M. Friday December 21, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, at Greenlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6600 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. A private family funeral will be held, with entombment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
