DARLENE KAMPHUES, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Hospice Home. Born Feb. 25, 1922, in Watts, Okla.. she was the daughter of the late James and Verland (Davison) Nelson. She was a Homemaker and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Surviving are children, Mickey (Joan) Kamphues, Jim Kamphues of Fort Wayne, Nancy Kamphues of Fort Wayne, and Kevin (companion Deb) Kamphues of Fort Wayne; sister, Glendora Gaunt of Albuquerque,N.M.; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Walter J. Kamphues and son, Leon W. Kamphues. Private service will be held by family. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
