David L. Baxter

David L. Baxter, 75, of Fort Wayne passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012. He was born on December 6, 1936 in Ohio, to the late Clifford and Ellen (Smith) Baxter. He worked at Phelps Dodge for 14 years, Coverall Rental for 19 years, and BRC Rubber-Churubusco for 12 years. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, watching movies, photography, and playing with his dogs. He was cherished and loved by all. He has left a hole in the hearts of his wife of 33 years, Lois (Fletcher) Baxter of Fort Wayne; sons, Kevin Baxter of Skokie, IL, Mike (Sue) Baxter of Cape Coral, FL, Mark Baxter of St. Petersburg, FL, Larry (Brenda) Waterson of Ormand Beach, FL; daughter, Linda (Mike) Waugh of Fort Wayne; brothers, Richard (Ruth) Baxter of Fort Wayne, Doug (Debbie) Baxter of Pennsylvania; sister, Elaine Eme of Fort Wayne; sister in law, Donna Baxter of Fort Wayne; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Baxter.

A funeral service will be 11:00 am on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne with visitation two hours prior. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Allen County Humane Society, attn.: City of Fort Wayne.
