Dimitrius Michael Kaplanis

Dimitrius Michael Kaplanis, 21, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015. Born on January 13, 1994, he was a graduate and wrestler of Wawasee High School. Dimitri was an exceptional student and a defensive lineman at the University of Saint Francis where he studied Business Administration. Dimitri will always be remembered as “the light” in the family that always shined so bright; he will be greatly missed and loved forever. He is survived by his parents, Kostas and Lorena (Ray) Kaplanis of Fort Wayne; brothers, Corey Dean of Northport, FL and Jeremy Dean of Fort Wayne; nephew, Tyler Dean of Fort Wayne; niece, Alexis M. Dean of Fort Wayne; maternal grandmother, Gwen Ray of Fort Wayne; and paternal grandparents, Pandelis and Evangelia Kaplanis of Fort Wayne. Funeral Service will be at noon on December 12, 2015 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 110 E. Wallen Road., Fort Wayne; Father Andrew Walsh officiating. A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 5:30pm to 9:00pm at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold St., Fort Wayne, with a Trisagion service starting at 8:00pm. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the University of Saint Francis.
