She was a graduate of Paul Harding High School in 1994. Coming from a family who truly saw the value of higher education, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Manchester University in 1998. At Manchester she was heavily involved on campus as a member of the Student Senate and President of the Afro House. In 2004, she earned a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Francis, and later received a second Master of Science degree in Human Resources from DeVry University.
She spent the majority of her career in Accounting and HR. She exercised her creativity and love of baking by running her business, Elaine's Elite Cupcakes.
Her greatest joy in life was her baby girl DyNishia. She worked hard to provide her with a good life, support her, and guide her into the woman she is today. The unwavering mothering, love, and kindness she gave was proof that DyNishia was, indeed, the love of her life.
Besides being a loving mother, Diondra was the “big sister” to her brothers, Terron Miller and Sheldon Miller, and she was Auntie “Dee Dee” to her nephew, King David Banks. She was a loving granddaughter to her grandmother, Sarah Jane Washington. She was loved by her aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in her transition by her grandfather, Glenmore Washington, grandmother Louretta Miller; grandfather, Sylvester Miller; great-grandmother, Willie Odessa Fitzpatrick-Hill, and great-grandparents, Lueretta and Rogers Harris.
Though she was only able to walk in this earthly realm for only 48 years, her laugh, intelligence, thoughtfulness, sense of humor, and willingness to help others are just some of the gifts she left us.
There is no way to ever calculate how much she will be missed by her family and all of those who love her.
