Donald W. Borne

Donald W. Borne passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 at his home. He was born on September 25, 1921 in Preble Township; Adams County, Indiana to the late Albert and Loretta (Koldeway) Borne. He worked as a farmer before retiring in the fall of 2011, milked cows for Allen Dairy, and he also worked at General Electric for 43 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Surviving family include his children, Gerald (Linda) Borne of Ossian, IN, Dale (Kelly) Borne of Fort Wayne, IN, Cheryl (Paul) Brosher of Hilliard, OH, Carolyn (Steve) Loggins of Fort Wayne, IN; twin brother Darold (Eileen) Borne of Monroe, IN; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Marjorie (Wyss) Borne in March of 2010 and his half-sister Helen Hemmelgarn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Road, Yoder, IN. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN with a rosary service at 6:00 pm. Burial will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Yoder, IN. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home or for Masses.
