Donald Wayne Seely

Don was born to Thelma and Wilson Seely in Paris, IL on August 29, 1946 and he went to Paris High School where he graduated in 1964.

He married his high school sweetheart, Jane Dewitt Seely on November 25, 1967.

He studied at Eastern Illinois University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business in 1968. He then earned his MBA from Eastern Illinois in 1972.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971, joined Ernst and Young as a CPA from 1968-1983 and served as a Second Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Lincoln National Corporation in Fort Wayne, IN from 1983-2000. He joined Jane as a realtor with Century 21 until retirement.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Jane Seely; two sons, Craig (Jennifer) of Fort Wayne, IN, Kyle (Cristina) of Carmel, IN; grandchildren, Rachel (Jared), Olivia, Jacob, Kylie; great-grandson, Oliver; brothers, Ron Seely (Doreen) of Madison, WI and Steve Seely (Katherine) of Chicago, IL.

Throughout his life, Don was very active with Blackhawk Ministries where he served on the Elder board and assisted with finances. He also led numerous home Bible studies and taught adult Bible classes at the church. During his earlier years he was involved with Easter Seals ARC.

Don enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing in Florida, reading and teaching the Word.

Don was full of life and love and his legacy and service live on.

Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Blackhawk Ministries, 7400 E State Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46815 with calling one hour prior.
