

Donna J. Cleven, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Cedars Assisted Living Center in Leo, Indiana. She was born on April 29, 1935, near Coatsburg, Illinois, to the late Virgil and Opal (Marshall) McMahan.
Donna married the love of her life, Ronald Cleven, on December 1, 1956. Together, they shared 57 wonderful years of marriage before Ronald's passing on February 12, 2013. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures.
She is survived by her children: Ronald (Elaine) Cleven II, Heather (William) Hicks, and Randall (Jody) Cleven; as well as 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Waller, and her brother, Daryl McMahan.
Raised on a farm in Western Illinois, Donna carried with her a deep faith in God, a strong love for family, and a profound appreciation for nature. She and Ronald enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, and singing together in the Senior Saints Choir.
Donna spent most of her married life in the Leo-Cedarville area, where she taught fourth grade at Leo Elementary School for 15 years. She was a gifted pianist, a creative poet, and a talented painter. Her artistic spirit and gentile heart touched many lives.
A devoted member of Grabill Missionary Church, Donna found joy and purpose in her faith community. She cherished her friendships and found great comfort in the fellowship of those around her, especially during her time at the Cedars.
Donna will be remembered as a loving and encouraging friend, a devoted mother and grandmother, and a woman deeply concerned for the well-being of others. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Funeral Service will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Grabill Missionary Church, 13637 State Street, Grabill, IN 46741 with visitation two hours prior.
