

Donna Jeannie (Smith) Weachock, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024. Donna was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 27, 1931, a daughter of the late Harry and Ruth Smith. She graduated from Cheyenne High School and proceeded to pursue a career in nursing after graduating from Saint Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Denver, Colorado. It was in Denver that she met the love of her life, Joseph A. Weachock, who was in the Air Force at Lowry Air Force Base. The pair married on January 30, 1954. Donna and Joe embarked on a beautiful journey.
Donna did not care for the Air Force life and convinced Joe to interview with the Boeing Corporation, which was interviewing in the Denver area for positions in Seattle, Washington. Joe was offered a position, so off they went to Seattle. Followed by Boeing career which moved them to Wichita, Kansas, Media, Pennsylvania, Northville, Michigan and finally to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where they settled down to a retirement like they truly enjoyed.
Donna had a passion for nursing, many sports including horse racing and she was a devout Catholic. She loved football, especially her Indianapolis Colts, as well as Indiana University basketball and Football. Most of all, she loved the "Triple Crown" of horse racing.
Donna is survived by her five children, Joe (Janet) of Dallas, Texas, Tim of Churubusco, Indiana, Jim of Sturgis, Michigan, Steve (Kim) of Columbia City, Indiana, and Sheryl (Bob) of Churubusco, Indiana; and ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in passing by her husband Joe, who awaits a joyous reunion. There will be no services at this time.
