Doris Ellen Gray

We regretfully announce the passing of Doris Ellen Gray of Leo / Grabill on April 30, 2021. Doris passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Doris was born on January 5, 1928 to Harold and Ellen Hines. She had a loving brother and 3 of the most devoted sisters ever. Doris was an avid golfer and frequently competed in the Fort Wayne City Tournament. She also enjoyed fishing and spending time in the sunshine. Her favorite way to spend time was surrounded by her family. She loved playing the slot machines or poker with her sisters, golfing and fishing with her children, and watching the grandchildren play. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harold Hines, sisters Ruth Colestock and Evelyn Bonar, son Michael Brouse and granddaughters Sara Woods and Miranda Brouse. She will be greatly missed by her son Larry (Joy) Brouse, daughter Lori (Jerry) Woods, sister Carolyn (Walter) Scott, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great -great grandchildren, and special nieces and nephews, along with her numerous extended family members and friends. A celebration of life reception will be held Friday May 14, 2021 from 6:30PM – 8:30 PM at Metea County Park Nature Center 8401 Union Chapel Rd. Fort Wayne, Indiana 46845.
