Dorothy Jean King-Jackson was born on October 8, 1943 to the late Charlie and Fannie in Marion, Alabama. She passed away peacefully on May 4, 2020. Dorothy was united in Holy Matrimony to James on September 18, 1960. They were happily married for nearly 60 years. Dorothy attended Lincoln High School in Marion, Alabama. She loved completing word search puzzles in her spare time. Dot also enjoyed cooking, especially her delicious 7-UP pound cakes and pies. She was employed with Fort Wayne State Development for almost 30 years before retiring. She leaves to cherish her memory; her devoted husband, James; her son, James Allen; three grandchildren, Brandan Edwards, Janeesha (Cambrin) Lamb, Justin Jackson-Gick; five siblings, Ruby King, Ruth Green, Eula Bynum, Vera (David) Varner, Charlie (Barbara) King; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; Charlie and Fannie King; daughter Sandra Jackson; and two siblings; John Lee and Margret King. Funeral services will be private. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park.
