Dorthy Marie Epple, 86 passed away February 25, 2024 at her home in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born January 5, 1938 in Liberty Center, OH, the daughter of Clifford O. and Elma Davis. She was a teacher with Fort Wayne Community Schools for 32 years and retired in 2001. Dorthy was a dedicated member of St. John Lutheran Church and very involved with ISTA.
She is survived by her son, Clifford (Sarah) Epple of Fort Wayne, IN; her sisters, Doris Drust, Debi (Royal) Meeks, Donna Murphy, and Darla (Mitch) Roth; her grandchildren, Brittany (Michael) Barton, Nicholas, Matthew, Penelope, Anastasia, and Alexander; 4 great grandchildren and a step great grandchild. Dorthy was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Paul Epple, and son, Rick Epple; her parents; and a sister Doreen Davis.
Funeral service will be 10 am Friday March 1, 2024 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home 8325 Covington Road Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Thursday February 29, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial at St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or American Cancers Society or Stillwater Hospice or Diabetes Association..
