Doug was born in Washington D.C. on May 26, 1963, to the late Mary (Bell) Anderson and the late Douglas Anderson, Sr. Survivors include a brother, David Anderson of Fort Wayne; sister, Rebecca Figert of Cecil, Ohio; nephew, Jared Figert of Oklahoma; niece, Kylee Figert of Fort Wayne; and numerous cousins in the Fort Wayne area. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Anderson.
Doug was a graduate of South Side High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana Institute of Technology. He retired in 2025 after nearly 30 years as a programmer at Industrial Engineering.
Doug will be fondly remembered by family as a very humble, private, easy-going person with a great sense of humor. He loved reading about history, science, and wildlife and watching sports on TV.
A memorial service is planned beginning at 11:00 am on Friday, February 13, 2026 at D. O. McComb and Sons, Lakeside Chapel, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46805 with calling an hour before.
Family requests a donation be made to Fox Island Nature Preserve or the charity of their choice in lieu of flowers.
