

THE REVEREND DR. EDWARD A. MEYER, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015. He was born Dec. 23, 1922 a son of the late Herbert, Sr., and Esther (Spiegel) Meyer. He served in the U.S. Army for three years during World War II. He was later ordained as a Lutheran Minister and served at a number of churches. During his ministry he served on various District committees, has been a member of the Indiana District Stewardship Board, and District Vice-President. He was a delegate to the Denver convention of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Lois Meyer; daughter, Janet (Larry) Graham; sons, Casey (Penny) Meyer, Andrew (Maureen) Meyer, and Peter Meyer; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and sister, Dorothy Buuck. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his brothers, Herbert, Jr., Stanley, and twin brother, Donald; and a granddaughter, Sarah Graham. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 1126 South Barr St., Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at noon. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to LCMS Global Mission, 1333 S. Kirkwood Road, St. Louis, MO 63122-7295. Greenlawn Funeral Home, Fort Wayne are handling arrangements.
