Eileen M. Schuhler

Eileen M. Schuhler, 100, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025. She was born January 14, 1925, in Hoagland, Indiana, daughter to the late Chester and Caroline (Beckman) Minnich. Eileen had worked at St. Joseph Hospital, Wayne Candies, General Electric, and was a carhop at Gardner's Drive-In, as well as working as a homemaker throughout her life, caring for her family. She was a life-time blood donor, enjoyed volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital, and volunteering at St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic Church for 60 years, where she loved serving as a sacristan. She also enjoyed gardening and flower arranging and was a member of the Hi C's Home Extension Club for 39 years. Surviving are her children, Janice Kever of Harlan, Indiana, Jeffery (Julia) Schuhler of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Julianne (Dallas) Myers of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Joseph (Katherine) Schuhler of Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren, Mindy (Joseph) Trzynka, Amanda Kever, Allan (Jen) Schuhler, Patrick Schuhler, Brett (Ryan) Schuhler, Joel Schuhler, and Ty Schuhler; great grandchildren, Zane, Lydia, and Jace Trzynka, and Daphne Schuhler; and siblings, Rosemary Konger, Margaret (Bernie) Konger, and Joseph (Annie) Minnich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sylvester Schuhler in 1987; siblings, Max Minnich, William Minnich, Patricia Proegler, Paul Minnich, and Clara Minnich; infant siblings, Chester Minnich, Jr., Josephine Minnich, and Albert Minnich; and son-in-law, Gerald Kever. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic Church, 11337 US-27, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46816, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819, with a rosary service being held prior, beginning at 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
