

Elias S. Escobedo, 83, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, 4:44 a.m., at Parkview Hospital Randallia Drive. Born July 20, 1930 in Stamford, Texas, he was a son of the late Benito Escobedo and Juana (Salas) Escobedo. He was a master plasterer for over 50 years, owner of Escobedo Contracting Inc. and co-owner of La Casa Escobedo Restaurant. He was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn M. (McCann) Escobedo of Fort Wayne; stepchildren, Bob and Tom Hall and Robin Carter; sons, Elias (Amelia) Escobedo Jr. and Danny (Rosie) Escobedo; daughters, Carmen (Juan) Larranaga, Rita Talemantes, and Becky (Gary) Lebrato, 27 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was also prededed in death by his son, Robert Escobedo; daughter, Kathy; son-in-law Dan Adams; and grandchildren, Rudy Escobedo and Carmen M. Larranaga. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold St., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Father Joseph Gaughan officiating.
