Elizabeth “Libby” Ann Owens, 69, passed away in Indianapolis on October 22, 2018. She was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on November 18, 1948, the daughter of the late Mike and Mary Kacala. Libby followed her parents to France, and many states throughout the US while her father served in the Army. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University and worked at Lutheran Social Services and Catholic Charities in child welfare. Libby was passionate about education, child welfare and social causes. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Tim Owens; children, Amanda (William) Stetzel, and Margaret Owens; and brother, Steve Kacala. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Owens; and sister, Shelley Kacala. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Visitation will be held 11 am to 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to McFadden Resource Center.
