Ernest E. Young, 77, passed away on October 30, 2018. He was born in Kendallville, IN on October 14, 1941, the son of the late Preston and Eva (Snyder) Young. Ernest served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1967 as a Medical Lab Assistant. He also obtained his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Indiana Tech. His hobbies included playing Table Tennis at the community center. He also enjoyed playing Pickle Ball. Ernest also enjoyed traveling with his wife to places near and far. Ernest has been a long time member of Oak Park Church. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Judith A. Young; son, Darren J (Becky) Young; grandchildren, Jenna and Audrey; sister Patricia Pontzius; and brother, Dennis (Eileen) Young. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Young. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Oak Park Church, 14922 Illinois Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46814. Visitation will be one hour prior. Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or Oak Park Church.
