Ester Ann Hensley

Ester Ann Hensley, born March 26th 1934, in Knox County, KY. She was also known as Easter Ann Hensley, her birth given name which she changed officially in October 31st of 1991. She didn’t care for her birth given name. She was named after her Grandmother Easter Ann Warren. She grew up in Knox County. KY, and was the oldest of 12 siblings: May, Julie, Kyle, Mary, Martha, Lilly, Lizzie, Matt, Betty Jo, Elmer Lee, and Irene.

She met her husband, Floyd Hensley, at the age of 17 and they married on November 13, in 1952 in Pineville, KY. Floyd passed away on Feb 16th 2016. Floyd was a coal miner and Ester was a stay at home wife. Together they had 3 sons. Eddie Eugene Hensley, Jerry Wayne Hensley and Larry Dale Hensley (passed away on May 8th 2014). She has 3 Granddaughters, Lisa Hensley, Jennifer Hensley, and Misty Taylor and one Great grandson David Joseph Wells Jr; 3 Great Granddaughters, Autumn Marie Sims, Adisyn Annmarie Bogue and Atalaya Jacqueline Grafing; One Great Great Grandson Carter Sims….She loved her family and her friends.

She was an avid gardener, and loved her rose bushes and flowers. She was a Woman of faith, and a member of Chapel of Praise Holiness church. She loved her children, and grandchildren.

A private funeral service will be held Monday, December 2 at 11:30AM at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home – Maplewood Park 4017 Maplecrest Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46815, followed by a graveside service at 1pm at IOOF Cemetery 1109 Hartzell Road, New Haven, IN 46774.
