daughter of the late Edward Brock-meyer and Lena Doerfel Brockmeyer She worked
in the accounting department at The News~Sentinel, Fort Wayne, retiring after 47
years in 1979. She was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church; a volunteer at
Lutheran Hospital Gift Shop; and a member of The News~Sentinel Quarter Century
Club, Fort Wayne. Surviving are her nephew, Edward (Connie) Saffen of Fort
Wayne; niece, Elaine (Jim) Scheele of Fort Wayne; great nephew, Jason Scheele;
two great-nieces, Joy (Kevin) Wilson and Kristine (Christopher) Sherwin; and one
great-great-niece, Haven Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her brother,
Paul "Stony" Brockmeyer; and sister, Vera Saffen. Funeral service is 1:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road
Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with calling one hour prior. Pastor S.S. Urberg
officiating. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Preferred memorials to Emmaus
Lutheran Church or Southern Care Hospice.
