Esther Corbat, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Born in Winamac, IN, Esther worked as a registered nurse for 50 years, retiring in 2008. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Arcola. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and enjoyed gardening and quilting. Surviving are her children, Steven (Beth) Corbat of Fort Wayne, David Corbat of Fort Wayne, John (Sallie) Corbat of Fort Wayne, Mark (Pamela) Corbat of Markle, IN, Carol Corbat of Lecompte, LA, and Mary (Bruce) Schoenemann of Roanoke, IN; grandchildren, Cassandra Hill, Emily Zeiger, Allyson Corbat, Mitchell Corbat, Shelby Corbat, James Corbat, and Joseph Corbat; 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Keiser of Columbia City, IN; and brother-in-law, Rex Hall of Canton, MI. Esther was preceded in death by husband, Robert W. Corbat, Jr.; father, Paul Sommers; mother, Mary Sommers; 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
