

Everett A. Hardy, 89, of Fort Wayne, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. He was born February 15, 1935 in Paris, Illinois, son to the late Clifford and Hila B. (Edwards) Hardy. Everett was raised in Paris, IL with his younger sister, Caryl Van Hyfte, also deceased. Everett attended Eastern Illinois University where he achieved Beta Gama Sigma honor society for business. Everett belonged to the Sigma Pi fraternity and graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting and a Minor in Economics. Upon graduation Everett joined the Indiana Air National Guard where he completed basic training and technical school. Joining the industry of accounting Everett worked for Magnavox many years along with General Electric and eventually retired from ITT. Later in life enjoyed time working at Sweetwater where music was at the forefront. Everett had a passion for music and participated in numerous groups from a young age. Mizpah Shrine band, Danville Consistory band, Fort Wayne Area Community band, Old Crown Brass band, Dick Seeger band and was a founding member of the Three Rivers Brass Quartet and the New Millennium Jazz Orchestra. Played the Boar’s Head Festival for 42 years and the Shrine Circus for 20 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, York Rite, American Federation of Musicians and USA Track and Field member. Surviving are his daughters, Diane (Chris) Whitacre of Huntington, IN, Linda (David) Rotach of Daphne, AL, Brenda Reisgies and Janet (Matthew) Robison of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Christopher, Brittany, Andrea, Ross, Abigail, Hannah, Alyssa, Joshua, Kendall and Madelyn; and great grandchildren, Jordan, Kaylee, Liam, Brinley, Julian, Levi, Rowan and Charlie. In addition to his parents and sister, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Marilyn R. (Reynolds) Hardy in 2023. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 11:00 am at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery.
