Everett O. Sams, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Bethlehem Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born February 9, 1937 in Greenville, TN, son to the late Robert and Olla (Franklin) Sams. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and worked as a truck driver throughout his life. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Louise Sams; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Medsker, Judy Depner, and Shirley (Darrell) Smothers; nieces and nephews, Len (Trish) Sams, Lisa (Tim) Monk, Melanie (Marvin) Wilson, Keith Sams, Ricky Hensley, Carla Lankford, Sheila Elliott, Tommy (Cheryl) Hayes, Brian (Kelly) Hayes, Melissa Rhein, Bobbie Caulston and Billy Burse; and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Glenzo LaFollette, Ruth Evans, Tony Sams, Frank Sams, Russell Sams, and Evelyn Hensley; brother-in-law, Tommy Sneed; and nieces and nephews, Karen Sams, Jennifer Lewis, John Sams, Donald Lewis, Ronald Lewis. A memorial service for Everett will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804, followed by the committal service with military honors.
