Felipe O. Marquez

FELIPE O. MARQUEZ, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne. Born Feb. 5, 1930, in Palau Coahuila, Mexico, he later became a naturalized citizen of the United States, as an adult. He retired from Inland Steel, in East Chicago, in 1989 after 34 years of service and then worked and volunteered for the Lake County Sheriff's department after retirement. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Guadalupe Y Marquez; children, Sandy (Robert) Wyatt of Leo, Angie (Rick) Hulfeld of Crown Point, Phil Marquez of Chicago, Ill., Mira (Mitch) Turvaville of Hurst, Texas, and Veronica (Todd) Orme of Fort Wayne; six grandsons, Daniel and David Garcia, Ryan, Brad and Kurt Hulfeld and John Wyatt; and seven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Julian, Rosalie, Dakota, Savannah, Benjamin, and Cora. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Guadalupe L. Garcia. Family services have been entrusted to Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 West Wayne Street, Fort Wayne.
