

Fredrick J. Armstrong, 83, passed away on Christmas morning Dec. 25, 2014 after a long illness. Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He spent his entire professional career at General Electric as a mechanical-electrical engineer where he was awarded many patents for his work. He enjoyed working in his wood shop, camping, fishing, working on family farms in Wisconsin, and dancing with his wife. Fred is survived by his wife of 61 years, June; his daughters Debbie (Gary) Mulcahy, Laurie (Doug) Brown, and Tammy (Theodore) Toscos; grandchildren Keely and Courtney Mulcahy, Andy, Colin, and Elaine Brown, Zoe, Eva, and Mia Toscos; his brother Joe (Ruth) Armstrong and sisters Julie (Daryl) Luchsinger and Susan (Larry) Leef; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Mary Armstrong, sister Marian Luchsinger, brothers, Mike and John Armstrong. Funeral service is 2 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Dr., Fort Wayne, Indiana with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
