To my cousins and Aunt June,

My heart goes out to you at this time of Uncle Fred's passing. My hope is that as time passes your memories of him will be an encouragement to you and bring a smile to your hearts. 

I am grateful for my memories of him and you all. Uncle Fred is the one who added to the excitement of July 4th celebrations at Stoney Acres by bringing fireworks accessories to our celebrations. He was a participant in trimming the Shetland pony, Stormie, which made him more compliant for us kids to ride. Maybe it seems strange, but I always looked forward to the arrival of my cousins from Indiana, who for me were the life of our celebrations, water skiing, and just "hanging out". 

I have wished and longed for my kids to experience the fullness of life that I have had because of family; you all have been a contributor of that experience. I hope your memories of these good times will do the same for you and your desires for your families. 

I miss you all, mourn with you, and pray God will provide you with the rich blessings in this life that money cannot buy.

June, Debbie, Laurie and Tammy, Our prayers are with you.  While it has been a long time since I worked with Fred, he was one of my heroes.  I joined up with GE's DC and Special Motors Engineering group in the mid-1960's, fresh out of college.  There was a “break-thru” motor development underway which became known as Hyper-Servo Motors, that promised to revolutionize Computer Data Storage.  All that was necessary was to create a motor that would start and stop in very short periods of times.  Fred and Bob Susdorf were leading the project and would not let anything stand in the way of progress.  There were some long hours and intense times in those days - and we became great comrades, drank many pitchers of beer at the Hoosier Tap while plotting the next steps of the program.  As I think about it now, Fred and Bob helped me grow-up quickly and understand the importance of focus and friendship.  I met my and married my wife, Barb, and we had our first child, Patrick while I was a part of that group.  In fact, both of them helped me move into our first house on Kinnard, right after Patrick's birth in December of 1969.  So many thoughts and so many things we did together.  He was a great man and a great friend!  You have our deepest sympathy.

Fred was my late husband's brother (John).  Though I never met Fred, my heart and prayers go out to you and your children June.  May you find "the peace that surpasses all understanding" as you move through these very lonely days.  Hold tight to your faith and take comfort in the loving arms of family and friends  I am unable to attend but a donation in Fred's name will be made to JDF.

You have my deepest sympathies. I never met Fred, but as a family historian I knew a bit about Fred...he was my late father's first cousin. May you all hold dear your treasured memories of Fred...with warm hugs.

Our sincere sympathies.  The Armstrong family made such a positive impact on Brooklyn, Wisconsin where he grew up.  His younger sister, Julie, is a lifelong friend and classmate of mine.  Many of my "growing up" memories came in conjunction with the Armstrong family from playing on the family farm just outside of town, to water skiing on Lake Kegonsa or the Wisconsin River with them to seeing their Mom Mary cooking and canning in the kitchen.  Please know that we hold you all in our hearts this day but that Fred will always be remembered as a part of a loving, terrific family that left a positive mark in a small town.

Eventhough we haven't met, knowing that you were the brother of my husband's late father, I would like to condole with the bereaved family you left behind. May your soul rest in peace! From your relatives in the Philippines (Reuben and Sophie Armstrong)

God bless you June, Debbie, Laurie and Tammy it was so good to reconnect with you.  I am thinking of you and will be unable to attend Fred's services as I am visiting in Arizona.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.  I worked with and for Fred for several years at GE and still will often wonder how Fred would feel about the work that I do today.  I hope that I can make him proud.  He is responsible in some ways for the man I am today.  God bless your family and I will keep thinking of Fred and praying for him.
