Gary Dwaine Jackson

Gary Dwaine Jackson, 73, passed away December 5, 2023 at his home in Fort Wayne, IN surrounded by family. He was born September 21, 1950 in Jackson, MI, the son of the late Harold and Lucille (Neil) Jackson. Born and raised in Jackson, MI, Gary graduated from Lumen Christi High School in 1969. He married his high school sweetheart that same year. Gary then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Long Binh Post, Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Gary was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. After returning home he attended and received a business degree from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. He then moved to Fort Wayne, IN then to Colorado. In 1986 he moved his family back to and settled in Fort Wayne where he started Sunburst Supply LLC. He owned and operated the company until he retired in July of 2021. Gary is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gail Jackson of Fort Wayne, IN; daughters, Michelle (Joe) Youngblood of Fort Wayne, IN; Jennifer Jackson of Colleyville, TX; grandchildren, Joshua Youngblood, Samantha Youngblood, and Braelynn Cochran. He was preceded in death by his daughter Christina Marie, his grandson Hunter Johnston, and brother Dennis Jackson. Funeral service 1:00 pm Thursday, December 14, 2023 with Visitation one hour prior at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road Fort Wayne, IN.
