Gilbert “Brian” Walker, age 77, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away at home on Saturday, February 24th, 2024 surrounded by friends and family.

Brian was born on March 9th to Gilbert & Anne Walker in Kalamazoo, MI. He graduated from Northside High School in 1964.

After graduation he went to work at General Electric in Fort Wayne, IN. He was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving the country during the Vietnam War. He stayed at GE for nearly 40 years, serving as a group leader over the motor division. He then worked at TFE part time for 12 years.

Brian enjoyed his time bowling, fishing, antiquing, and spending time with family, grandkids and friends.

He was a member of New Haven Methodist church and served as an Usher. He was very active in the VFW New Haven Post 2457. He was involved in the membership recruitment and held the position of treasurer for many years. Brian was also active in the local American Legion Post 47 and the Navy Club Ship 245.

He is survived by his four children, Brian Walker, Stacy Brumett, Scott Walker and Elizabeth Hasch. 10 grandchildren including Breonna “Precious” Ikerd, and 11 great grandchildren.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents and also his sister, Kathleen Leistikow.

A celebration of life will be held on March 23, 2024 at the VFW Post 2457 in New Haven, IN. Memorials may be made to VFW 2457.
