She was a member of Brookside Church and attended Ft. Wayne Bible Institute where she met her husband of 71 years, Milton Wong of Koloa, Hawaii.
Glenna was a Godly woman who loved and prayed daily for her friends and her immediate and extended family. She was a caring mother and dedicated helpmate to her husband, Milt. She thoroughly embraced Milt’s Hawaiian culture by learning to cook Wong family dishes, and decorating her home with Hawaiian treasures.
She was equally as proud of her Amish roots, spending time researching her family genealogy. Her grandfather, Bishop Henry Egly was the founder of the Evangelical Mennonite Church (now Fellowship of Evangelical Churches), the spiritual heritage of Brookside Church. She worked tirelessly outside the home to help support a growing family. Beginning as a waitress at the original Ft. Wayne Hobby House (KFC) with a young Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy's, retiring from Light World as buyer and consultant.
Glenna was known for her remarkable ability to remember names and dates; sending cards for birthdays, babies, weddings and anniversaries. With Glenna, it was all about family. Whether you were close or far away, a relative or a friend. She loved others and wanted them to honor God and follow Jesus.
Glenna was preceded in death by her husband Milt, her son Kent, and siblings Albert Egly, Chloetta Erdel, Carolyn Nussbaum and Violet Ringenberg.
She is survived by her younger brother Lester (Carole) Egly of Charlotte NC; her children, Kurt (Marilyn) Wong, Keith (Susan) Wong, Kris Wong, Robbie (Kent) Wong; her grandchildren, Shane (Courtney) Wong, Taylor (Wade) Brock, Sarah Wong, Corbin (Vern) Miller.
