Gloria June McAfee

Gloria June McAfee, 93 passed away February 21, 2021 at her home in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 26, 1927 to the late Dale and Goldie Mae Weaver. June graduated from South Side High School in 1945 and worked afterward as a secretary at Lincoln Life in Fort Wayne. June had danced professionally along with her dance partner, another local girl,and prior to meeting and marrying Robert E. (Bob) McAfee in 1947, who was to be her husband for 72 years, until his passing in 2018. June spent her life as a homemaker, enjoying being a hostess at their many parties and family gatherings, and travelling with her family.

She is survived by her only son, Steven (Ani); by her grandchildren: Jennifer Garn (Chad), Sarah Skynar (Joe); Lisa Rice (Ahndre); Shawn McAfee; Justin McAfee (Miranda); by her nine great-grandchildren; and by her five great-great-grandchildren. June was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and her grandson, Elisha McAfee.

A private memorial service will take place on Thursday, February 25 at 6:30 p.m. at D. O. McComb Funeral Home 4017 Maplecrest Road Fort Wayne IN. An interment service will take place on Saturday, June 26 (which would have been June’s 94th birthday) at Williamsport Cemetery on Winchester Road in Poe, Indiana.
