Gregor M. Grove

Gregor M. Grove, 82, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Orval and Lucille (Kinkley) Grove, on January 13, 1942. Greg graduated from South Side High School in 1960. He worked for NIPSCO and retired after 30 years of service. Greg shared 31 years of marriage to Betty (Sites) until her passing in 2011.

Greg was a kind and friendly man who loved talking to people. His favorite topic of conversation was politics and current world events. Greg was an avid reader and didn't start the day without reading the paper. He enjoyed watching the news to stay current on world news. Greg had an enthusiasm for classic cars. He once owned a 1960 red corvette convertible. He enjoyed taking friends and family for a joy ride in it. Greg's great loves were Nascar Racing and IU Basketball.

After retirement, Greg enjoyed meeting regularly with his fellow NIPSCO retirees to share coffee and stories. He always enjoyed a good joke even if it was at his expense. His positive attitude and smile will be missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Michele (Monty) Ream; granddaughter, Kennedy Ream; stepchildren, Ed (Rita) Sites, Richard Sites, Betty Ann Wilson, Glenna (John) Gunther, Robert (Linda) Wilson, and Rita Ann (Alvin) Battle; and brother, Graham Grove.

Gregor is preceded in passing by his wife, Betty; sister, Kay; mother of his children, Maryann Pierson; and son, Scott.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 East 38th Street, Marion, Indiana 46953, at 11:00am.
